Some
of today's top professional
poker players were poker
dealers.
Johnny
Chan was a
professional dealer
before he became a full
time pro player.
So was Layne
Flack.
Scott Fischman
said he got a job dealing
simply to improve his
poker play (and
probably for a little
bankroll money).
Scott collected a Gold
Bracelet at the 2004
year's WSOP.
The
final three players
in that No-Limit Event
were all former dealers.
"As a
dealer you are
able to get a
lot of experience
sitting at the
table watching
everybody, and
I think that helps
to build your
sense of the game."

Dealer and

EXPERIENCE THE
GAME
There is
no substitue for table
experience. As a dealer
you experience the game
without risking your
bankroll.
You can read every book
on the market, you can
study poker texts, charts,
theories, strategy,
odds, tells and concepts
but none of these will
prepare you to sit down
at your first high stakes
table better than experiencing
the table as a dealer.
These other things are
all valuable in their
own right, but they
don't come close to
prepare you to play
at these kinds of tables
as dealing them first.
Just imagine if you
were going to play in
a game that you had
been dealing at for
six months. Or even
a different game that
was at the same stakes...
Think you'd be better
prepared to sit down
and win money compared
to someone else who
had put in just as much
book study and preperation
as you?
You'll be wisened to
the types of plays and
know what to expect.
Combine your table experience
with your poker knowledge
and the elusive next
step might just come
into focus.
PICK UP TELLS
You'll already be
concentrating on the
game while dealing.
You'll begin to pick
up on recogonizing the
universal tells of strength,
weakness, fear, and
confidence. You'll also
learn unique and individual
tells that can be used
later for maximum profit.
DEVELOP READS
You'll be able to fine
tune your reads to nearly
uncanny accuracy. You'll
recogonize betting patterns
and start putting people
on hands. Even better,
you'll be proven right
(or wrong) without having
to call a huge bet on
the end.
INTEGRATE
NEW STRATEGIES AND DEFENSES
You'll learn new strategies
and defenses from the
good players and learn
how to attack and manipulate
the weak players. You'll
watch what other players
do and integrate it
into your arsenal
BUILD AND SUPPLEMENT
YOUR BANKROLL
Nearly every
pro has at some point
in another needed to
supplment their bankroll.
Not only will you supplementing
your bankroll, you'll
be improving your game.
You'll also
learn strategies to
earn residual income
from your time spent
dealing at the tables.
DEALER TRAINING
IS THE BOOST YOUR GAME
NEEDS
Taking the
leap from amateur player
to pro is a serious
step. You need to be
well prepared to handle
the ups and downs that
professional poker will
bring. Take the time
to invest in your game
now so no matter what
bad beats you take in
your poker career, you
will always have a relevant
and in demand skill
to fall back on.
